How Does a Body Wrap Work?
Toxic fluids can accumulate due to age, stress, lack of exercise, hormone imbalances, weight gain and other factors. This interstitial fluid (fluids surrounding cells) can contain chemicals that in high amounts can be considered toxic. Medical professionals refer to these as toxins, which are waste products, left over from metabolic processes and muscle activity. Exercise will flush some of these toxins, but sometimes more specific treatments can be highly effective in extracting and absorbing toxins from the body through wraps and bandages. Once excess fluids have been extracted, empty pockets will remain between cells where fluids once collected. Bandages are effective in compressing together empty pockets and helping to re-contour the body.
To assist in detoxification, reduce water retention, and tone the skin, this treatment begins with a body brushing to exfoliate the skin and encourage the lymph system. Concentrated seawater and seaweed containing minerals, rare trace elements, vitamins, and essentials oils, said by proponents to detoxify, increase circulation, and improve appearance of cellulite are utilized in this treatment.
During the wrap, a relaxing scalp massage is provided. The solution is then rinsed off followed by Nova’s hydrating body lotion, providing a cleansing and relaxing whole body treatment.
Based upon each patient’s individual needs, body warps are customs designed for maximum results.
