Fitness Programs

The benefits of exercise are well documented. These include decreasing the risk of developing cardiovascular disease, maintaining lean muscle and reducing body fat, reduction and management of hypertension, high cholesterol, and stress, and management of metabolic disorders such as diabetes. The Medical Spa at Nova, offers individual personal training and small group classes with instructors certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine and American Fitness Professional Association.

Yoga: Relax, strengthen and soothe your body and mind in these beginning to intermediate level yoga classes. You will increase your flexibility and strength through various postures and breathing techniques ~A perfect compliment to all forms of exercise. The goal of yoga is to keep the body supple through movement and stretching, but there?s another dimension. Yoga is a holistic spiritual discipline with its roots in Eastern forms of meditation.

Pilates: The balance between mind and body is meant to promote physical harmony and conditioning for people of all ages. Pilates is an invigorating exercise that leaves you feeling refreshed and in harmony with your body. Pilates exercises stretch and strengthen and are unique in their ability to encourage coordination between the muscles that stabilize the body.

Yogalates: A combination of Yoga and Pilates. You will increase your flexibility, and relax as well as strengthen your core muscles.

Core Conditioning: A variety of equipment and the ballet bar are used to keep this class creative and fresh each week with new moves to continue to challenge your muscles.
Core/Balance/Stretch: Heighten & improve postural awareness, core/trunk strength & stability, improve flexibility and reduce stress! This class uses various equipment, including stability ball in seated, standing & floor/mat formats to challenge and improve balance, flexibility & promote overall relaxation. Perfect for all levels!

Circuit Training: (AKA Total Body Conditioning) An all encompassing workout designed to produce total body results. This fast moving workout conditions your cardiovascular system and nearly every muscle group in your body! It?s perfect for intermediate through advanced levels.

Step/Strengthen/Stretch: This class combines step aerobic conditioning, muscle strength & endurance training and concludes with a relaxing stretch. Basic step choreography with options for intermediate-level intensity will be offered.
Kickboxing: Join us for a ?Tae Bo? style workout! You?ll shape your upper body with actual in-the-ring combinations, (i.e. jabs, hooks, uppercuts) as you work your legs with a series of kicks. Jump roping and abdominal work, round out this class. Please note that the workout intensity can be modified to any fitness level.

Hi/Low Impact: This class is great for fat burning and cardio conditioning. Come party with our terrific instructor as you use easy to follow aerobic choreography in a high intensity, low-impact workout, followed by abdominal work ~ geared to all fitness levels.

Body Sculpt:A non-impact, toning and shaping class that utilizes light weights and Spri bands to work the major muscle groups through resistance training. It is also perfect to do before or after a cardio workout.


Stability Ball:his class utilizes the resist-a-balls, Spri Bands, and free weights, to give you a total body work out. Strength, flexibility and core stabilization will be emphasized. Great for the beginner to advanced student.

Boot Camp: A no-nonsense military-style workout. Sprints, push-ups, abdominals, basic calisthenics, and weight training are all included in this intense class. A great option for those trying to lose that baby weight, get in shape for a wedding, or any other reason to get you motivated to reach your goals!

Group Exercise Policy:The group exercise classes are set up to be six consecutive weeks. As a courtesy, we allow one makeup class during your series of session. In the case of incliment weather, we will follow the Loudoun County Government cancellation schedule.

Group Personal Training:Group Personal Training is a fun and effective way to improve your appearance and overall health while reducing the cost per person of private training sessions. This program allows you to receive support, motivation and commitment under the guidance and direction of a qualified professional who understands your needs and goals.

One-on-One Personal Training:Research shows that using a skilled personal trainer may lead to significantly greater chance of getting into better shape than exercising on you own. Personal training will allow you to work harder, more constantly and more effectively than you would on your own. You will receive guidance and education to ensure you establish effective exercise patterns right from the beginning of your program. You will receive consistent support and motivation throughout out the entire time you work one-on-one with your personal trainer. The workout routines designed for you will be varied, fun and effective.
